Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is a, goal oriented talking therapy, that combines hypnotherapy with cognitive and behavioural therapy (CBT) philosophy. The client and the therapist work together throughout the process, identifying problems and assessing goal driven methods of overcoming them.
Founded on the guiding principals of Albert Ellis's Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) clients are taught how to identify and correct the maladaptive thoughts and beliefs that lie at the heart of many emotional disturbances.
Central to this therapy is the concept simply articulated by the Greek stoic philosopher Epictetus nearly 2000 years ago

                                                                    but the views they take of them."

 

This kind of thinking still holds good today and can be a very liberating realisation for people as they start to discover that change is possible in their lives.
